PERSONALITY:
Ever the optimist, Honey Lemon brings in the cheer to the Big Hero 6 group. She is literally the only person who thinks that they won't die while being chased by an evil masked man, or the only one who doubts that someone's trying to kill them just because they're being chased. But that doesn't mean Honey is a ditz! No, not at all. She just has a very positive way of thinking, and it is her sunny attitude that boosts people's confidence when they feel like they're in trouble or when they're in doubt.
Her real name is unknown, and is only called by either Honey Lemon or just Honey in the series, which may be a reference to her liking of tea. It isn't explicitly shown in the movie, but she does make tea at Tadashi Hamada's wake, and offers it to Cass. Either way, the highlight to her personality is the first part of her nickname: Honey. She's a very sweet person in general, and is absolutely affectionate. Even when she's just met a person, she kisses their cheeks, hugs them like they've never been hugged before, and gets up all in their personal space like an everloving aunt.
Known as the Chemist of the group, she can be a bit quirky, but not to the point that you can consider her a mad scientist! She loves taking selfies and photos of her friends. She even takes a picture of an evil masked man that's about to crush 'em! Her quirkiness adds to her being affectionate, which just makes her a sweet and lovable person overall. As a chemist, she loves mixing things together and getting all sorts of chemical reactions. The director of the movie did say, however, that she's sweet and innocent on the outside, but inside has a darkness; she likes to destroy things. She loves it when things blow up, but she doesn't disrespect the science that she studies; she knows her limits when it comes to mixing elements together and even refuses to create certain concoctions for her friend Fred because she says it's "not science".
Among the Big Hero 6 team, Honey's intelligence is second to Hiro Hamada's (as shown in the junior novelisation), considered to be borderline exceptional. She's a brilliant chemist, able to create custom compounds quickly. She's also very observant and perceptive, easily piecing things together and finding clues regarding the evil masked man trying to kill them (Yokai), amongst other things. Her intelligence is mostly shown in the 3DS video game where she gives tips on how to defeat certain enemies, and really, what kind of person but a genius would create a machine that transforms mismatched socks into energy (as shown in one of the books)?
While not exactly a daredevil, Honey Lemon isn't one to back down from a challenge. She takes on Hiro Hamada's request to be upgraded, and becomes the superhero that she is now. She isn't much of a fighter and is in fact, more of an informant/comms tech as shown in Big Hero 6: Battle in the Bay, and is very gentle when she does have to fight. Her movements are very soft and mild, and she only goes wild when there's something related to chemistry involved. Her bravery adds up to her optimism; she believes that things will be okay, so she may as well do things and save the day!
